How Pricing Works
LeaveTheGear is free to join. There are no setup fees and no commitment.
When a renter books your gear, they pay a $2.00 non-refundable booking fee to the LeaveTheGear platform. This fee confirms their reservation. You collect the rental payment directly at your shop using your own payment system.
Each $2.00 booking fee counts as one confirmed rental toward your monthly platform fee. Your platform fee is based on how many confirmed rentals you receive in a calendar month, using the schedule below.

Your fee is calculated automatically at the end of each calendar month based on confirmed (paid) bookings across all of your store's locations.
If your volume drops, your fee drops the following month. There is nothing to configure.
Locations
Every store gets 2 locations included free at signup. Need more? Each additional location is $10/month.
This applies whether or not you have the Storefront website. Location fees are billed alongside your platform fee.
Storefront Website
$30/month— optional, available at any volume. Includes a multi-page branded website with inline visual editor, About page, Contact page, Gallery, and visitor navigation. Comes with a 30-day free trial that starts when your store is approved. No credit card required to start the trial.
The Storefront fee is separate from the platform fee and location fees above.
Renter Booking Fee
Renters pay a $2.00 booking fee per reservation to the LeaveTheGear platform. This is non-refundable except when the shop cancels the booking (see Terms of Service for full cancellation rules).
You never pay the booking fee. The $2.00 is between LeaveTheGear and the renter. You collect the full rental amount directly from the renter at pickup using your own payment system.
Additional Details
- All prices are in USD.
- Platform fees are calculated monthly based on confirmed bookings in that calendar month.
- We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any pricing changes take effect. You may close your account at any time if you do not agree to updated pricing.
- There are no setup fees, no annual contracts, and no cancellation penalties.
- A “confirmed rental” is a booking where the renter has paid the $2.00 booking fee via Stripe. Cancelled bookings that were refunded do not count toward your monthly total.
