Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
LeaveTheGear collects only what it needs to operate. Here is what we store:
Account information
Your full name, email address, and hashed password when you create an account.
Booking information
Your phone number (collected at checkout), the gear you booked, the shop you booked with, rental dates, and booking status.
Payment information
We do not store your credit card number. Stripe processes the $2.00 booking fee and stores payment details on their end. We receive only a transaction confirmation from Stripe.
Session data
An encrypted session cookie that keeps you logged in. No tracking cookies. No advertising cookies.
Store owner information
If you register as a shop owner: business name, address, contact info, and inventory listings you create.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to run the platform:
- To create and manage your account
- To process your $2.00 booking fee through Stripe
- To send booking confirmation and notification emails
- To share your name and phone number with the shop when you make a booking (so they can reach you)
- To respond to customer support requests
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.
3. What We Share and With Whom
We share limited information with the following parties, only as needed:
Rental shops
When you make a booking, the shop receives your name, phone number, and booking details so they can prepare and contact you if needed.
Stripe
Stripe processes the booking fee. Your payment information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal process.
4. Cookies
LeaveTheGear uses one type of cookie: a secure, encrypted session cookie that keeps you logged in to your account. This is a functional cookie — it is required for the platform to work.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance (e.g., transaction records related to the booking fee).
Booking records may be retained for up to 7 years for financial record-keeping purposes, but will be de-identified where possible.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal information
- Opt-out of emails — unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at legal@influx-llc.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are in the European Economic Area, you may have rights under the GDPR. We honor deletion and access requests regardless of your location.
7. Children's Privacy
LeaveTheGear is not intended for anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at legal@influx-llc.com and we will delete the account promptly.
